The Boston Red Sox wasted an impressive 5.1-inning effort from starter Conrad Strong, falling 2-1 to the Indianapolis Ignition at Fenway Park. Allan Spincic notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 6-5. The Ignition, at 68-44, lead by one game in their division.
Douglas Krauter provided a timely hit. The Indianapolis pinch hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ignition on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"The old adage is true," said Krauter. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
