Mets Collect 6-4 Win Over Black Bears
With third baseman Javin Hall leading the charge, the New York Mets defeated the Virginia Black Bears, 6-4, at Citi Field. Hall, who is tied for 7th in the EAST in total bases with 224, was 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. New York reliever Zachary Flaherty was the winner. His record is now 9-2. The losing pitcher was R.J. Slaven. The Mets raised their record to 60-58.

New York won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and R.J. Slaven on the mound for Virginia, catcher Earl Jones hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Mets fans to their feet.

In postgame comments, Jones said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
