San Francisco Giants starter Silvano Liano turned in a sterling performance against the Las Vegas Knights, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Earning his 25th save for San Francisco was Arturo Frank. San Francisco is 4th in the Western Region Northwest Division with a record of 51-75.
San Francisco catcher Nolan Peterson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a slider into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 100th hit of the season and put the Giants ahead, 2-1.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Las Vegas manager Kenny Matuszak.
