Angels Topple Cardinals with Late Rally
The California Angels picked up a win at Disney Stadium, taking down the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-5. Starting pitcher Ralph Mayes was a big reason why. Patrick Class earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 14-3. The Angels saw their win-loss record go to 81-45. At the same time, the Cardinals fell to 77-49.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Sergio Sabedra came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing St. Louis pitcher Gabriel Balboa, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting California on top, 6-5.

"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said Mayes.
