The Atlanta Braves had to overcome a good performance from New York pitcher George Babcock to claim a 3-2 win at Truist Park. Babcock went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. The first-place Braves, at 78-52, now lead their division by 4½ games.

Jagger Macon, who is tied for 4th in the EAST with a .372 on-base percentage, aided the Atlanta cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Macon told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
