Pirates Win 5th Straight, Take Down Expos, 6-2
|
Pittsburgh right-hander Rubin Morrison pitched his team to victory over the Montreal Expos at Olympic Stadium. The final score was 6-2. The 4th-place Pirates are now 65-67, the Expos 73-59.
Michael Shatley aided the Pittsburgh cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I had a good game plan," said Morrison. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Eddie Dolly said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
