Fisher Cats Rally For 3-1 Win
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
Mikey Banda was in top form in a low-scoring contest between New Hampshire and Altoona. The Fisher Cats left-hander helped his team beat the Curve, 3-1. Julian Cramer earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 4-0. Ashton Rial locked down his 4th save.
Alejandro Carreto drove in one run for New Hampshire. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Lee Villagran. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
Afterward, Fisher Cats manager Rich Hernandez was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
New Hampshire, at 23-14, sits in third place in the Eastern League North Division.
