Patriots Sneak Past Ravens, 3-2
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Arm & Hammer Park enjoyed a good ballgame.
In a low-scoring clash between Somerset and New Haven, pitcher Lucas Reppond was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Somerset now owns a record of 27-30.
Had Nathan Franke not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Franke hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Patriots.
New Haven manager Mike DeBlois said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
