5 Hits for Ports Moreno
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Nolan Moreno is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Riverside Red Wave at Roger Dean Stadium today. The monster effort from the 24-year-old center fielder helped the Stockton Ports take the win, 25-3.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Red Wave manager Damani Mayo. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Nolan Moreno hit a three-run home run off Raymond May in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
Moreno's current batting average stands at .217 and he has chalked up 6 home runs and 49 RBIs.
