Mudcats Win 5-4 Walk-Off
|
Hudson Valley left fielder Karl McKinney had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. McKinney was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, even as Carolina beat the Renegades, 5-4. Carolina reliever Desmond Lockhart picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Dee MacKay shouldered the loss. The Renegades, 10-11, continue their so-so start to the 2052 season.
Teodoro Galarza was the walk-off hero for Carolina. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mudcats second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Was I getting worried?" said Mudcats manager Trajano De Leon. "Nope." Then he added, with a wink, "There was never a doubt in my mind."
