Pit Spitters Drop Mudcats, 10-6
|
The Traverse City Pit Spitters knocked off the Carolina Mudcats, 10-6, at Five County Stadium. Michael Beatty was a big reason Traverse City won. The catcher went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win makes Traverse City 17-15.
Luis Feliz Pinales dealt the Mudcats a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Traverse City leading 5-4, Pinales, who is tied for 9th in the ECL in RBI with 24, hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Traverse City manager Omari Parker.
