Sod Poodles Take Nail-Biter Over Muskies
In a well-pitched game between the Ames Sod Poodles and the Madison Muskies, pitcher Rocky Ploetz was superb. The Ames right-hander helped his team win, 1-0. M.J. Prosperi earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Ames now sits at 20-17, while Madison falls to 24-13.

The Sod Poodles procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Duke Robertson. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"I was a little disappointed," said Madison manager Sean Blakney. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
