River Bandits Dumped, 6-5, by Great Lakes
|
The Great Lakes Loons withstood an impressive performance by Quad Cities first baseman Cérbero Rodríguez to defeat the River Bandits, 6-5, at Modern Woodmen Park. Rodríguez was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Joe Tackett earned his 7th save, after closing out the game. The Loons, at 30-22, sit in 4th place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dakota McIntosh? The Great Lakes third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Loons on top, 6-4. For the game, McIntosh had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
After the game, Great Lakes manager Eli Coalter applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
