The Portland Hops got a superb performance from pitcher Fabian Galloway. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Francisco. The Giants won the game, 6-4. Galloway threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Picking up the save was Luther Diamond, his 2nd. The loss drops Portland to 4-7.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of Solomon Ding to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Giants on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Ding. "Just do my job."
