Rangers Lose By a Run at St. Louis, 1-0
|
In a tight affair between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers, pitcher Jamison Bond was in the zone. The St. Louis right-hander helped his team win the game, 1-0. The win brings the Cardinals to 8-5, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
St. Louis first baseman Edward Lepak contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a splitter into right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 1-0.
Bond said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
