Timber Rattlers Suffer 9-8 Setback
|
In a high-scoring game between Cedar Rapids and Wisconsin, first baseman Charles Tulino was a difference-maker. The 23-year-old helped Cedar Rapids grab the 9-8 win. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Cedar Rapids reliever Gordon Rauth picked up the win to move to 4-3. Charlie Campagnone suffered the loss. Cedar Rapids is last in the Midwest League Western Division with a record of 44-73.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Tulino hit a fastball from Charlie Campagnone for a solo home run. The Haymakers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Tulino said.
