Fading Hops Lose 6th Straight
|
Seattle turned a good effort from starter Jake Prendergast into a win over the Portland Hops at T-Mobile Park. The final score was 3-2. Mike Nimitz notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. The Hops, at 4-11, have stumbled out of the gate.
Seattle took a 3-2 lead on Dickie Pierce's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Pierce hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Portland pitcher Landon Basinger visibly frustrated.
"Tough loss," said Portland manager Alberto Velasquez. "But we'll learn from it."
