Yankees Curb Red Sox, 4-1
|
The New York Yankees picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the Boston Red Sox, 4-1. Starting pitcher Nathaniel Murphy played a key role in the triumph. Xander Monroe earned the save, his 2nd. The Red Sox fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 2052 season.
Jared Calhoun delivered a big hit for the Yankees. The veteran third baseman belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. The longball put New York on top, 2-1. Overall, Calhoun went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I felt good up there," said Calhoun. "I saw the ball well."
