Legends Lose Late, 1-0
|
The Charleston RiverDogs and Lexington Legends put on a pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring affair between the Charleston RiverDogs and the Lexington Legends, pitcher Mike Peck was the difference between victory and defeat. The Charleston left-hander earned accolades in the 1-0 RiverDogs win. Owen Prewitt, now 3-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 12th, an error by the Legends allowed the RiverDogs to score the winning run.
"This wasn't a good win," said Thomas. "It was a great win."
Charleston, now 23-22, holds down 5th place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.
