Tourists Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Columbus third baseman Otis Beverly had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Beverly went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, even as Asheville beat the Catfish, 5-4. The win was credited to Sage Beebe in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Aaron Klein took the loss. Ross Allen earned the save for Asheville, his 13th.
Madaleno Solano, the 24-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Solano contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Asheville up, 5-4.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Orlando Lopez.
The Tourists now own a record of 27-23.
