Blue Jays Sting Mets, 5-1
|
Toronto rode a good effort from starter Erubiel Martin to beat the New York Mets at Citi Field. The final score was 5-1. Brent Brown closed the game out for Toronto, earning his 1st save. Toronto goes to 15-3 with the win.
The Blue Jays got a lift from third baseman Jayden Bice, who in the top of the second hit a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Blue Jays on top, 1-0.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Bice told the Toronto Bulletin.
