Suns Score Late, Stun Drive, 5-4
|
The Greenville Drive extended their losing streak with a loss to the Hagerstown Suns.
Greenville third baseman Brantley Karlis had a good game, even if his team did not. The Drive dropped a 5-4 decision to Hagerstown at Fluor Field at the West End. Karlis went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2. Hagerstown, at 60-23, is cruising.
Jayden Shannon went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk for Hagerstown. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Norm Horne. It was his 13th walk of the season.
"We're in a funk right now," said Greenville skipper Tim Fox.
