Late Magic Gets Olympia 5-2 Win
|
Fans who congregated at Grays Harbor Ballpark were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Olympia Spartans topped the New Westminster Cavalry, 5-2, in Northwest League action at Grays Harbor Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Olympia first baseman Ming Jatupong. With the win, Olympia has a record of 18-11. New Westminster falls to 10-18.
Jatupong had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-1 curveball from Wyatt Sokol, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Spartans a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Jatupong.
Jatupong told a Olympia Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
