Royals Lose 5-1 Decision to Astros
|
Houston picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, toppling the Kansas City Royals, 5-1. Pitcher Derron McKenzie was one of the reasons the Astros triumphed. The winning pitcher was McKenzie, now 4-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. The Royals fall to 8-15 and continue their lackluster start to the 2052 season.
Burl Shearer, the 27-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Shearer contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Houston up, 3-0.
Shearer told the Houston Observer: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
