Lake Monsters Foil Muckdogs, 1-0
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Marcel Moody, the Batavia Muckdogs lost to the Vermont Lake Monsters, 1-0. Moody went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Paco Carvajal collected his 4th save. The win for the Lake Monsters lifted their record to 26-22.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from center fielder Gunnar Springer. For the game, Springer was 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Vermont a 1-0 lead.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Springer after the game.
