Wills Powers Mets to 7-1 Win
|
At Citi Field, the Montreal Expos and New York Mets were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Denholm Wills knocked in 3 runs to help New York beat Montreal, 7-1. Wills produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. The win gives the Mets a record of 12-11.
The Mets got a big at-bat from catcher Greyson Calaway. For the game, Calaway was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave New York a 4-1 lead.
"Winning is always a team effort," Calaway said after the game.
