The 8-3 Salem-Keizer win over Medford was due in large part to Patrick Possenti. The Volcanoes first baseman went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2. The winner was Silviano Saenz, who threw 96 pitches over 5.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits. The Volcanoes now own a record of 31-21.

Salem-Keizer used the bat of Peter Yingst to get the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Volcanoes ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

Possenti said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
