Lunsford Rips 3 HR

Jim Lunsford went yard three times in a Pittsburgh Pirates victory over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park today.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Pittsburgh right fielder went 3-for-5 against Detroit with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Pirates to the 10-1 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Jim Lunsford struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tommy Nickerson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jaden Bishop in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Joshua Rusch in the 9th.
Lunsford is presently hitting at a .308 pace with 9 home runs and 23 RBIs. He has played in 41 games and scored 26 times.
