Clinton's Atkins Sidelined for Season Saturday, May 11th , 2052 The season is finished for Austin Atkins of the Clinton LumberKings. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The LumberKings starting pitcher suffered a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the South Bend Cubs. Team doctors said it would take at least 13 months to heal. This season Atkins has worked 30.2 innings with 21 strikeouts en route to a 3-1 record and a 1.76 ERA. |
