Red Sox Win 4-3 Walk-Off
|
The Cleveland Indians got a sterling performance from pitcher Aaron Civale, but the Boston Red Sox still prevailed, 4-3. Civale threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Heath Hembree came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The loss drops the Indians to 9-13.
The Red Sox relied on left fielder Andrew Benintendi for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 13th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Benintendi said.
