Sod Poodles Pitching Ravaged by Chinea Sunday, September 6th, 2020 The Springfield Cardinals stopped the Amarillo Sod Poodles by a score of 17-13 at Hodgetown today, with the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Chris Chinea. The 26-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Chinea said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Chinea did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Sod Poodles. "Not much that I can say," offered Amarillo manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us." Chris Chinea tripled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 9th. In the 2020 season Chinea is hitting .290 with 4 home runs. |
