Baltimore Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Baltimore Lords have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Seattle Rainiers, winning 5-4 at Union Park today. Lords left-hander Lefty Gomez threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Lords to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Transcontinental Cup.

Earl S Smith, the Baltimore catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 5-4, Lords. For the game, Smith went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Gomez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in Baltimore. Slated to start are Ray Benge for the Seattle Rainiers and Travis Ferrante for the the Baltimore Lords.
