Wayne Murdock Out for Season
Wednesday, September 26th , 1951
Wayne Murdock will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the Los Angeles first baseman could miss the remainder of the year. Murdock was injured while colliding with a player at a base in the Aviators-Navies clash at Pacific Electric Field recently. Doctors said he has a broken bone in the elbow and would be out a minimum of 4 months.
So far this season, Murdock is batting .246 with 29 home runs, 82 RBIs and 78 runs scored. He has 117 hits in 475 at-bats, 83 walks and a .358 OBP. Murdock has played in 141 games.
