The WWAPNABI Awards 2020

In baseball we give awards to those who have excelled. Best manager, Gold Gloves, Silver Sluggers are all great awards that we love to vote on and debate. It also makes us feel vindicated in our choices as GM when one of our players win one of these awards.

These are not those type of awards! I present to you the following award: WWAPNABI - What the hell is this acronym you might ask? It stands for We Want A Pitcher Not A Belly Itcher; this award will consist of 5 starters and 2 RP's that really had no damn business taking the mound as many times as they did.
(The qualifications were 125ip for a starter and 50ip for a RP; there were 5 categories for SP: Most HR's allowed, worst FIP, highest BB%, worst WAR, and worst opponent batting average against. 2 categories for RP: most meltdowns like a toddler, and most blown saves) Also, A new category for 2020 worst win probability added in which any pitcher could win.

Champion's Division

NYY - Luis Cessa 45 HRA
NYY - Luis Cessa 6.250 FIP
WAS - Sean Newcomb 16.43 BB%
NYY - Luis Cessa -0.57 WAR
NYY - Luis Cessa .291 Avg Ag
HOU - Chris Devenski 23 MD
CHC - Carl Edwards Jr 9 BS
NYY - Luis Cessa -4.93 WPA

Author's note: The Yankees GM took the fun right out of this year's WWAPNABI Awards by starting Cessa every 5th day. Sorry to the others who tried hard to get one of these awards, there's always next year!

Pro Division

COL - Wei-Yin Chen 34 HRA
TOR - Jefry Rodriguez 5.091 FIP
TOR - Jefry Rodriguez 11.27 BB%
STL - Miles Mikolas 0.6 WAR
TOR - Mike Leake .312 Avg Ag (2x)
TEX - Tyler Alexander 25 MD
TOR - Shou-xin Tsu 8 BS
TEX - Trent Thorton -4.05 WPA

Author's note: We see our first repeat winner! Congratulations Mike Leake! Last year in Seattle players hit .318 off of you and this year they hit .312. Maybe you will have more success in the FED, but I'm betting not.

Fed Division

KC - Eric Skoglund 51 HRA
CIN - Amir Garrett 6.051 FIP
KC - Touki Toussaint 13.6 BB% (2x)
CIN - Amir Garrett -0.34 WAR (2x)
PIT - Wade Miley .313 Avg Ag
SF - Keegan Thompson 20 MD
KC - Ian Kennedy 9 BS
PIT - Wade Miley -4.46 WPA

Author's note: Funny thing is that both Touki and Amir were in the Pro in 2019 and they both were horrible in these categories. Their respective GM's were undaunted and gave them the ball way too many times and they were horrible again. Does the trend continue?

I have to note that Texas had two very bad pitchers pitch a ton of innings. RP Tyler Alexander who did win one coveted award and SP/RP Trent Thornton who won the new category worst WPA. Tank for Blaze.
