Orioles Score Late to Beat Marlins, 5-4
|
The Baltimore Orioles had to overcome a fine effort from Miami pitcher Ed Singleton to win, 5-4, at Marlins Park. Singleton went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Earning his 6th save of the year was Luis Morales. Baltimore now owns a record of 14-19.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of Juan Pulido to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Orioles on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Pulido told reporters after the game.
