Downbound Emeralds Lose 8th Straight
Boise used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jon Saylor to down the Eugene Emeralds, 1-0. The last-place Emeralds have dropped 8 straight games.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 21-year old center fielder Sergio Lemus had a real shot to win the game. Eugene pitcher Eddie Heath was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Lemus hit a run-scoring single. The Hawks had a walk-off triumph.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Lemus told the Boise Chronicle.
