Sanabria Helps Canadians Beat AquaSox, 9-0
|
Vancouver took on Everett in front of a lively crowd.
The Vancouver Canadians knocked off the Everett AquaSox, 9-0, at Nat Bailey Stadium. Sergio Sanabria was a big reason Vancouver won. The designated hitter was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. Fokke Giebels, the winner, goes to 5-1. He allowed no runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Josh Soto converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Dan Prescott hit a bases-clearing double off Jerry Demers in the bottom of the first, which put the Canadians in front, 3-0. In addition to the double, Prescott had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
Prescott told a Vancouver Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
With the victory, the Canadians upped their record to 35-24.
