|
Starting pitcher Bob Coffin pitched well enough to help the Elizabethton Twins beat the Kingsport Mets, 6-4. Coffin, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Greg Storck was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Jorge Nolazco, who is rated as the 36th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Elizabethton cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman drew 2 walk.
"We ground out the win," said Coffin. "That's all that matters."
With the victory, the Twins record now stands at 15-22.
