6-2 Loss Deepens Kingsport Funk
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays topped the Kingsport Mets, 6-2, in Appalachian League action at Hunter Wright Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Bluefield pitcher Mike Momplaisir. The Blue Jays, at 30-25, have now won 5 straight.
Bluefield used the bat of Luis Periera to capture the win. The designated hitter jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Momplaisir, "and go after the next one."
