Brewers Earn 4-3 Win Against Mets
|
The Milwaukee Brewers wiggled past the New York Mets, 4-3, at Citi Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Milwaukee second baseman Chris Shaw. The winner in relief was Oliver Mateo. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Sergio Camacho recorded his 1st save for Milwaukee.
Shaw had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Joe Doro, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Brewers a 4-3 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Shaw.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Milwaukee manager Steven Lerud.
With the win, Milwaukee raised its record to 29-23.
