Cardinals Hammered by Lerma, Drop Game 2 to Royals
Burlington catcher Juan Lerma was the difference-maker for the Royals in what turned into a shootout with the Johnson City Cardinals. Lerma earned accolades after going 2-for-4 in the 8-5 Royals win. With the victory, the Royals moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

The Royals took a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Johnson City hurler Davon Cluse with two outs, Lerma hit a 3-run home run.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Lerma said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 10th , 2034 at Howard Johnson Field in Johnson City.
