Mets Rally For Late Win Over Guardians
|
Chase Davis did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cleveland Guardians from losing, 6-5, to the New York Mets at Progressive Field. Davis slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was New York reliever C.J. Faircloth, now 2-0. The loser was Jorge Loera. Earning his 37th save of the year was Joe Doro.
The outcome might have been different for New York, had it not been for Dan Corbin, the former first round draft pick . Corbin stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put New York up, 6-5. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Corbin.
The win makes New York 65-55.
