The Chicago Cubs went home winners at Miller Park, thanks in large part to starter Jorge Portillo. Portillo stifled the Milwaukee Brewers, enabling Chicago to grab the 4-1 win. The victory gives Chicago a record of 90-58.

It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Jorge Vargas, the 29-year old first baseman . Vargas contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Chicago up, 2-0.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Vargas. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
