7 Straight Wins for Chihuahuas
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the El Paso Chihuahuas and Albuquerque Isotopes came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The El Paso Chihuahuas faced a tough opponent in Albuquerque pitcher Jeremy Watts, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Isotopes Park by a final score of 4-2 in 10 innings. Watts went 5 innings and allowed no runs. El Paso reliever Aaron Hernandez picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Phil Swope was saddled with the loss.
Luis Jaramillo came through with a big-time hit for El Paso. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Winning is contagious," said Jaramillo. "We're looking forward to the next game."
The losses continue to add up for Albuquerque, having now dropped 10 straight.
