Curve Get Close Win Over Fisher Cats, 4-3
|
Josh Corrigan, who is tied for 8th in the in strikeouts with 117, propelled his team to victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The final score was 4-3, Altoona. Altoona reliever Mike Bickel picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. D.J. Fratto absorbed the loss. Erik Robertson earned the save for Altoona, his 24th of the year.
Tsuyoshi Yamada hit a run-scoring double off D.J. Fratto in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Curve in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Yamada had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Josh's as tough as he is talented," said Altoona manager Gabriel Casanova.
With the win, the Curve have a record of 52-61.
