Thunder Suffer 6-4 Loss to Yard Goats
|
The Hartford Yard Goats weathered a fine game by Trenton first baseman Dan Kolb to upend the Thunder, 6-4, at Arm & Hammer Park. Kolb was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Sincere Tention picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Maurizio Pesina was tagged with the loss. At 62-70, the Yard Goats are currently 4th in the Eastern Division.
Hartford used a well-timed hit by Luis Covarrubias to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Yard Goats ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Covarrubias.
