Sod Poodles Rally For 1-0 Win
|
Frisco wasted a solid 6.1-inning effort from starting pitcher Andy Hunt, losing to Amarillo, 1-0, at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. The Sod Poodles saw their record improve to 75-43.
Amarillo used a clutch hit from Jhoan Paulino to get the win. The second baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Sod Poodles ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
During his postgame press conference, Sod Poodles manager Zachary Ward told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
