A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Lake Elsinore Storm and Inland Empire 66ers.

The Lake Elsinore Storm defeated the Inland Empire 66ers, 8-3, at Lake Elsinore Diamond today. Leading the charge for Lake Elsinore was center fielder Ron Wheetley. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Lake Elsinore reliever Jimmy Elmer picked up the win, upping his record to 6-0. Juan Camacho was saddled with the loss.

Kazuteru Yamada drew 1 walk for Lake Elsinore. In a tie game with two out in the bottom of the eighth, Yamada came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Storm in front, 4-3.

Yamada called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."

With the win, Lake Elsinore raised its record to 89-48.
