Red Sox Drop 4-1 Decision to Woodpeckers
|
Fayetteville Woodpeckers starter Eric Engelhardt was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Salem Red Sox, 4-1. Fayetteville reliever Sean Speier picked up the win, while Tim Alexander took the loss for Salem. Mike Bailey closed it out for Fayetteville, earning his 3rd save.
Rob Hurst drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Fayetteville. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Hurst had a clutch at-bat. Facing Salem hurler Tim Alexander, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Woodpeckers a 1-0 lead.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Engelhardt.
The loss has the Red Sox at 8-3.
