Chicago Tags Oakland with 4-2 Defeat
|
Chicago White Sox starter Mike Bash pitched a strong game against the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum, leading the White Sox to victory, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Bash, now 3-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Luis Perez Ruiz recorded the save, his 1st.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Jorge Seguinot to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the White Sox ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Seguinot.
Chicago, now 5-9, is off to a slow start.
